OFFENSE

After a challenging 2022 season, Coach Suffal is excited and optimistic for the 2023 football season. He explained, “We are a spread Wing-T team. We will use many shifts and motions pre-snap. This gives us a chance to change gap responsibilities pre-snap. This will be our second year in this offense. We have a lot of what people call smoke and mirrors in this offense. Our kids did a great job picking it up last year and should be able to change the pace of how fast we play this year.” There are six returning Defensive Starters, including quarterback Austin Hart (5-10, 175, Jr.), tight end Justice Throneberry (5-10, 205, Sr.), wide receiver Lane Phipps (6-2, 170, Sr.) running back Caleb Casas (5-10, 180, So.), running back Dierks Gray (5-10, 170, So.), and slot Caleb Hollis (5-10, 165, So.).

DEFENSE

Coach Suffal talks about his defense, “We play a 4-2-5 multiple defense. We slide in and out of that and an odd front. Our defensive ends are the cornerstones that have to be versatile. We will be sound across the board. Every player must be gap sound and be lined up correctly. This will be our second year in this defense which should help with some alignment issues we had last year. There are six returning Defensive Starters, including defensive tackle Jason Gleason (6-2, 280, So.), defensive tackle Dale Turner (6-0, 240, Sr.), outside linebacker Colby Casas (6-3, 215, Jr.), outside linebacker Zander Schreiber (5-10, 170, Jr.), linebacker Ethan Byers (5-10, 215, Sr.), and linebacker Ashton Brown (5-10 205, Sr.).
