2024 Marietta Football Preview – Presented by Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance – Sam Barrick

MARIETTA INDIANS

Coach: CHUCK TERRY

0-10

OFFENSE

Marietta is looking to rebound with a young but promising team. “The Indians will feature many new faces on the team including several freshmen who had success in junior high,” head coach Chuck Terry said. “Our priority this summer is to make gains physically and mentally, developing a new team culture.” The offense will be led by sophomore quarterback Kasen Lott (6-1, 215, So.), who gained valuable experience last season. “He has a strong arm and runs the ball hard,” Terry noted. The offensive line will be anchored by Dylian Flores (6-1, 230, So.), who gained experience as a freshman. Wide receiver Santiago Diaz (5-7, 135, Jr.) will also play a key role. “He is a leader and wants to improve. We will depend on him to lead by example,” Terry said.

DEFENSE

Defensively, the Indians aim to be aggressive and physical. “We are looking to be competitive in every game we play,” Terry emphasized. The defensive unit will be led by sophomore linebacker Adrian Rueda (5-10, 190, So.), who earned playing time as a freshman and is described by Terry as “an aggressive player who likes to hunt and hit.” Another key player will be senior nose guard Jaxon Lott (5-10, 290, Sr.), who performed well in the spring and is expected to lead the defense. Freshman linebacker Colton Rodriguez (5-10, 205, Fr.) is committed to becoming a good football player and is expected to make significant contributions this season. Assistant coaches include Stacy Marris, Clayton Atwood, Cecil McCarroll, and Johnny Aguilar.
