Healdton’s Triston Altstatt – Football Spotlight – Presented by Healdton Booster Club

Throughout an athlete’s life, there can be a number of people that have an influence on them and help shape them into the athlete and person they become. As a student athlete at Healdton High School, Triston Altstatt has had a few people like that in his life. And he says that he is thankful for all of them.
“My coach, my dad, and my grandpa are some of the biggest role models in my life,” he said. “They are good men that set a good example. Another would have to be my seventh grade math teacher, Mr. Smith. He is the one who convinced me to try football.”

Triston is a senior at Healdton. He is a member of the football, basketball, and weightlifting teams. He is also involved in the Student Council and the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.

While he has had the support and encouragement of those around him, Altstatt had to put in a lot of work to become who he is today.

“It has taken dedication, hard work, and leaving the rest up to God,” he said.” I just want to be the best player I can be and that is probably my biggest motivation.”

Dylan Terry is the head coach of the Healdton football team and he says that Triston is an outstanding player and person.
“Triston is a big time player for us,” the coach said. “He brings the energy for our team and leads us the right way. He has all the intangibles you look for in a player. He is a hard worker with a great attitude who plays with passion and is a great teammate.”

There have been a lot of memories that he has made on and off the field with his teammates. But as he looks back, Altstatt has one that stands out the most.

“I think my highlight moment so far would have to be in football,” he said. “We were playing against Wayne High School. I stripped the ball and ran it back for 40 yards.”
