Q&A with Plainview’s Drew Rayburn – Presented by Aesthetic Solutions Medspa & Wellness Clinic

VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?

Drew: I am a senior at Plainview High School. I play basketball and I run track and cross country.

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Drew: The memory I am most proud of is going to state with my friends in track my junior year.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?

Drew: My sport has taught me to always persevere when times get tough and be consistent

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Drew: The best advice that anyone has ever given me is that pain is temporary but regret lasts forever. This has had an impact on me in so many ways when running because it helps me push past my body’s limits no matter how much it hurts.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

Drew: My mom inspires me the most because she works so hard for me and my family

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Drew: The professional athlete I look up to the most is Kyler Murray because his size did not stop him from chasing his dreams and competing at the professional level

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Drew: Ethan Barker has had the biggest impression on me because he was a great role model and leader on my basketball team and he was a really nice guy on top of all of that.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Drew: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Priest because she showed that she truly cared about her students and helped them strive towards their goals.

Drew: I would like to thank coach Stevenson and coach Butler for always pushing me to be the best version of myself.
