VYPE: What grade are you in, and what sports do you play?
Cooper: I am a senior at Plainview High School. I run cross country and track, and I swim.
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
Cooper: My biggest accomplishment was getting first place in a cross country meet my sophomore year. This is what started my love for running. My favorite memory would be placing fourth at State Swim in both the 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle this year.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?
Cooper: Sports has taught me patience. Results don’t come instantly. Hard work beats talent.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Cooper: A teammate that inspired me the most was my teammate Cade Parks. He was a junior at the time I was a sophomore, and he pushed me to be the best I could be and him being faster than me made me work harder.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
Cooper: Coach Butler inspires me to work hard everyday. He is the one who taught me to be patient with the process of running. He encourages me to always do better.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Cooper: My 4th grade teacher, Ms. Mary Smith, was my favorite teacher. She was always nice and in a good mood. She made learning fun.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Cooper: The best advice I have been given is to prioritize recovery the same as your workouts
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Cooper: My all-time favorite meal is steak and potatoes.
