Q&A with Ardmore Teacher Grant Naylor – Presented by Rib Crib

VYPE: Where do you teach?

Grant: I teach at Ardmore High School.

VYPE: What do you teach?

Grant: Freshman Oklahoma History

VYPE: How long have you been in education?

Grant: I have been at Ardmore for twenty-eight years. I have also taught at Kingston High School, Shawnee High School, and East Central University in Ada.

VYPE: What made an impact on your life and played a role in you becoming a teacher?

Grant: My parents were both educators, which helped shape my decision to become a teacher. As a student, my parents and coaches were very impactful on my life.

VYPE: What do you enjoy about being an educator?

Grant: Watching kids grow as players and as students in the classroom.

VYPE: What is the best advice anyone has given you in regard to teaching?

Grant: Never give up on a kid!

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing when you are not teaching?

Grant: I enjoy spending time with my wife, Brandi, and my two kids, Dru and Ian. I also like to hunt, fish, and cook.

VYPE: Anything else you would like to share?

Grant: I have been very privileged to work with some outstanding coaches and players.
