Athlete Spotlight with Ardmore’s Jordan Knight – Presented by Rib Crib

Ardmore High School senior Jordan Knight is passionate about running Track and Field for the Ardmore High School Tigers. As a sprinter, Jordan has been apart of the Ardmore High School Track and Field for 3 and a half years at Ardmore High School.

Jordan is proud to represent both his school and community as a student athlete. Jordan elated, “It means a lot to me to be a Tiger. I remember during my 8th grade year, watching the high school win state; it made me really excited to join Ardmore Track and Field. I want to make a similar impact and make the people in my community love track and field.”

In terms of his biggest role model, he looks towards his teammate. Jordan stated, “My biggest influences are the seniors from my freshman year like Evan, Ricky Smith Jr., and others, because they showed me how deep this track stuff can get.”

In regards to his favorite teacher, Jordan did not hesitate. Jordan stated, “Mrs. Shelton for sure was my favorite teacher. She was there for me, and gave me a good amount of advice. She also helped me with my essay writing skills for college.

As far as what it has taken for Jordan to become successful at running track, Jordan accounted, “It took countless days of not only running but lifting, working out my core, fixing my diet and making track my obsession to really be successful.”

During a student athlete’s career, many memories are made. For Jordan, one particular memory stands out. Jordan recalled, “One of the highlight moments of my career was being on my school’s state 4×2 during my sophomore year when we almost broke the school record.”

In addition to being a student athlete, Jordan is a member of The National Honor Society.

After graduating from Ardmore High School, Jordan plans on pursuing higher education, and to compete in collegiate athletics. Jordan stated, “I plan on continuing my track career at Langston University and getting a degree there in Health and Physical Education.”
