2025 Dickson Comets Football Preview

DICKSON COMETS

Coach: LANCE BRYAN

3-7

OFFENSE

With a new era underway, the Dickson Comets are looking to raise the bar under first-year head coach Lance Bryan. While the 2024 season showed flashes of promise, Bryan is setting the tone for what he expects to be a more disciplined and explosive unit in 2025. The team is young and inexperienced but hungry. Leading the offense is junior quarterback Baylor Bond (6-0, 180, Jr.). Bond is a dynamic athlete poised to rack up stats in Dickson’s spread system. “Baylor has elite arm strength, and he’s going to have a big year,” said Bryan. He’ll have talented targets including Talyn Reames (5-9, 170, Jr.) and D’Eric Drain (6-0, 175, So.), who is listed as both a running back and wideout. D’Eric a multi-position playmaker who can break a game open. Up front, Landry Baker (6-4, 305, Jr.) anchors the offensive line and will be key to protecting Bond and opening up lanes for Drain.

DEFENSE

On defense, Bryan is working to establish physicality and consistency in their 3-4 base. The Comets return five defensive starters, giving the unit a solid foundation to build upon. The team wants to swarm the football and play tough, disciplined defense. Easton Peoples (5-10, 195, Jr.) will be a tone-setter at linebacker, while Henry Guess (6-1, 200, Jr.) brings athleticism off the edge. Jaelon Douglas (5-9, 165, Jr.) is a versatile piece at cornerback and wide receiver. Sophomore D’Eric Drain will also see reps on defense, highlighting his impact on both sides of the ball. An exciting underclassman to watch is incoming freshman Tatum Wolfe, who brings elite speed to the secondary.

Junior Takeylon Maxwell (6-3) is a standout cornerback that Bryan says is being under-recruited: “He has all the tools. College coaches need to come see him.” Bryan also praised Ayden Olguin as a “wonderful kid that uplifts the entire community.”
