PLAINVIEW INDIANS
Coach: DEON STEVENSON
2024-25 Record: 16-9
The Plainview Indians enter the season with a fresh roster and a clear mission: replace the production of a graduated senior class while developing younger talent into key contributors. Under the leadership of veteran Head Coach Deon Stevenson, now in his seventh year as head coach and tenth at the school, the team is focused on growth, learning, and building chemistry. With two returning starters providing experience and leadership, the Indians are excited to see how new faces adapt to expanded roles and help define the team’s identity this season.
Sophomore forward Dominique Coursey (6-2, So.) is the centerpiece of the team. One of the most athletic players in the state, Coursey combines strength, speed, and physicality with scoring ability at all three levels. He can play multiple positions offensively while anchoring the defense, and his competitiveness and leadership set the tone for the team. After leading Plainview in scoring last season as a freshman, Coursey is expected to carry a heavy load and continue his development throughout the year, especially after completing his football season.
Senior guard Carter Fernando (5-11, Sr.) provides leadership in the backcourt and serves as a stabilizing presence. Fernando’s experience allows him to direct the offense, make smart decisions, and defend with intensity. Alongside him, senior forwards Noah Enriquez (6-1, Sr.) and Luke Brooks (6-5, Sr.) bring size, rebounding, and versatility to the frontcourt, giving the Indians a balanced mix of skill and athleticism. Senior guard Luke Daniels (5-9, Sr.) adds depth and reliability in the backcourt, helping the team maintain tempo and spacing on both ends of the floor.
Sophomore forward Lleyton Dvorak (6-6, So.) is a promising young player who brings length and potential to the frontcourt, while seniors Colin Ladd (6-0, Sr.) and Alec Ladd (6-1, Sr.) provide experience, size, and steady leadership to round out the roster. This combination of youth and experience gives the Indians flexibility in rotations and lineups, allowing them to adjust to opponents and game situations.
Coach Stevenson emphasizes teamwork, effort, and accountability, creating an environment where players are challenged to grow both individually and collectively. With returning leadership from Coursey and Fernando, and the development of younger players stepping into larger roles, the Plainview Indians have the tools to compete at a high level and make their mark this season.
