SULPHUR BULLDOGS

Coach: GRANT BATES

2024-25 Record: 17-10

The Sulphur Bulldogs enter the 2026 season with a strong sense of identity and purpose. After a 17–10 campaign last year, the team looks to build on its successes while integrating a mix of experienced players and hungry young talent. With three returning starters, including two who have been integral parts of the program for over two seasons, the Bulldogs are well-positioned to combine leadership, skill, and energy. Under fifth-year Head Coach Grant Bates, the focus will be on disciplined execution, strong fundamentals, and cultivating a culture of accountability and toughness both on and off the court.

Senior guard Bridge Barrett (6-1, Sr.) leads the Bulldogs as one of the premier guards in the state. Known for his scoring, court vision, and competitiveness, Barrett sets the tone in every game. His ability to create opportunities for teammates, combined with his leadership and work ethic, makes him the cornerstone of the team. Senior forward Colten Cole (6-3, Sr.) anchors the frontcourt with intelligence, discipline, and leadership by example. Cole may not always be in the highlight reel, but his presence in the right spots, defensive awareness, and consistency are vital to the team’s success. His character and commitment set a standard for the entire roster.

Junior guard Ethan Sales (5-10, Jr.) provides stability in the backcourt with his skill, energy, and defensive intensity, while senior forward Kale Brakefield (6-1, Sr.) contributes a reliable scoring and rebounding presence. Sophomore guard Cole Kirby (5-8, So.) adds quickness and agility, giving the Bulldogs depth in the backcourt, and freshman guard Maveric Lowrance (5-11, Fr.) brings athleticism, grit, and potential to develop into a significant contributor as the season progresses.

The frontcourt is further strengthened by juniors Payton Curtis (6-6, Jr.), Jaxxon Beam (6-3, Jr.), and Rush Pittman (6-2, Jr.), along with sophomores Garin Watson (6-1, So.) and Kaleb Walker (6-1, Jr.), providing versatility, rebounding, and defensive presence. Senior forward Castin Tully (6-3, Sr.) rounds out the rotation with experience and skill in multiple areas of the floor.

With a balance of experienced leaders, skilled underclassmen, and a culture built on discipline and accountability, the Sulphur Bulldogs are prepared to compete at a high level. Coach Bates emphasizes teamwork, character, and effort, creating an environment where players are pushed to grow individually and collectively. This season, the Bulldogs aim to blend talent and chemistry to make a strong push deep into the postseason.
