Ardmore High School senior Chenoah Joe is preparing for his final season with a mindset shaped by hard work, family and team unity.
Joe, a left tackle, said his biggest inspiration comes from his parents, who model dedication daily. “My dad works two jobs and my mom works night shifts, and they still make time for me and my brother,” he said. “That pushes me to do my best.”
Entering his senior year, Joe has embraced both the physical and mental demands of football. Protecting the edge as a left tackle comes with challenges, especially when facing quick defensive ends. Still, he credits his preparation routine — stretching, listening to music and watching film with teammates — for helping him stay ready.
One of his favorite memories came during a win against Harrah, when the final buzzer confirmed Ardmore would host a playoff game. Another unforgettable moment was seeing starting center Marcus Foard step in at middle linebacker and return an interception for a touchdown.
Joe said the bonds built off the field are just as meaningful as the competition. “We’re all very close with each other, and we’re a strong group of kids,” he said. “After practice, we bond together like a true team.”
That sense of connection extends beyond football. Joe enjoys playing pickleball with friends and considers the local courts and Noble Stadium among his favorite places in Ardmore. He also gives back by helping coach his younger brother’s 12-and-under baseball team.
In the classroom, Joe’s favorite subject is math, and he credits teacher Mr. Spears for making a lasting impact.
Through athletics, Joe has learned lessons he plans to carry forward: “Do the right thing, do my best and show people I care.”
He also points to former teammate Benson Le as someone who pushed him to improve. “We made each other better every day,” Joe said.
As his senior season approaches, Joe’s focus remains steady grounded in effort, teamwork and the values that got him there.
