Lone Grove’s Ava Hale – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Lone Grove Dental Care Center

Throughout an athlete’s career, there are moments that stand out for a particular reason. It could be a personal achievement, a team accomplishment, or just a fun experience. But nonetheless, these moments are important to them. Ava Hale is a senior at Lone Grove High and as she looks back at her career, there are some moments that are her favorite.

“Being able to work with Team Lone Grove has definitely been a highlight,” she said. “Team Lone Grove is our team of cheerleaders who compete in the Special Olympics. We taught cheers, stunts, and tumbling that the team was able to use in performances at the Regional level. Being able to witness the excitement and happiness that the girls displayed when performing was something awesome to have been a part of.”

Hale is a member of the cheer and track teams at Lone Grove. She says that being able to wear her school colors when she cheers is something that she is proud to be able to do.

“I feel very honored that I get to represent Lone Grove,” Ava said. “I have tried to always do everything with class and have understood that representing my school is a privilege.”

There have been people that have been part of Ava’s life and helped shape her into the person that she is today.

“My parents, Sam and Stephanie Hale, are my biggest role models,” she said. “They are both very strong people and are always encouraging and pushing me to be a better version of myself every day. Also my brother Aiden. He is always super supportive of me and I can always depend on him with anything that is going on in my life.”

As an athlete, Hale says that she has also had teammates that have had an impact on her life.

“Kassie Burns, who graduated in 2024, is a former teammate who was always there for me when I needed help,” she recalled. “She would ask how I was doing If she saw me struggling with cheers and would work with me after practice. Always set a good example of working hard and dedication.”
