HEALDTON LADY BULLDOGS
Coach: MIKE PHILLIPS
2024-25 Record – 15-7
Change is the word that defines the Lady Tigers heading into the new season. After a strong 15–7 record last year, the program sees itself in a rebuilding phase, having lost four starters and two key contributors off the bench. Yet, with experience in the program and a roster full of athletic, committed players, head coach Mike Phillips, now in his 13th year, believes this is a team capable of growth and resilience. The challenge will be less about talent and more about mindset: learning to play together, embrace every role, and push each other to improve daily.
Despite the turnover, the Lady Tigers return a solid core of juniors and seniors who are ready to take the reins. Junior guard Peyton Stewart (5-7, Jr.) returns after averaging 7.3 points and five rebounds per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field last season. Stewart brings consistency, athleticism, and leadership on both ends of the court, serving as a key playmaker and scoring option. Senior guards JeriAnn Idleman (5-3, Sr.) and Addy Schoonover (5-6, Sr.) will be counted on for experience and stability, while juniors Jentri Riner (5-3, Jr.), Ryleigh Veal (5-7, Jr.), Alexis Wilson (5-7, Jr.), and Alexis Davoult (5-7, Jr.) provide scoring, versatility, and length in the frontcourt. Senior forward Kaylee Smith (5-7, Sr.) adds depth and toughness, rounding out a group ready to embrace bigger responsibilities.
Looking ahead, Phillips is excited about the contributions from younger players stepping into meaningful roles. Sophomore forward Jocelyn Lara (5-7, So.) and freshmen guards Eve West (5-7, Fr.) and Alli Wilkerson (5-5, Fr.) bring energy, athleticism, and a willingness to learn that could tip the scales in close games. West, nicknamed “The General,” is an exceptional all-around athlete who leads with her voice and motor, controlling both offense and defense. Her intelligence and competitive drive make her a standout not only on the basketball court but also in track and on the diamond.
With a mix of experience, talent, and youthful energy, the Lady Tigers enter the season ready to grow together. Coach Phillips emphasizes daily improvement, and if the team can match its ability with the right mindset, Wynnewood has the tools to compete at a high level and continue building the program’s tradition of success.
