OFFENSE
The Dickson Comets are gearing up for an exciting season, with six offensive starters returning. Leading the charge is senior running back Dejuan Williams (5-10, 180, Sr.), praised for his versatility and athleticism. Joining him are key contributors like Colby Casas (6-4, 215, Sr.) at tight end and Cam Smothers (6-0, 280, Sr.) anchoring the offensive line as the center. Under the leadership of junior quarterback Colby Paulsen (6-1, 170, Jr.), the Comets will execute a slot T offense, emphasizing a run-oriented approach with play-action passing. With a mix of experience and talent, the Comets aim to keep defenses guessing and put points on the board.
DEFENSE
On the defensive side of the ball, the Comets boast seven returning starters and a versatile scheme. “Our goal is to use different coverages, stunts and blitzes, utilizing speed to confuse offenses,” Suffal said. Led by linebacker Caleb Casas (6-0, 180, Jr.) and safety Caleb Hollis (5-10, 170, Jr.), the Comets will deploy a 3-3-5 formation, utilizing speed and deception to disrupt opposing offenses. With defensive backs like Jaelon Douglass (5-9, 160, So.) providing coverage and linebackers like Austin Hart (5-10, 180, Sr.) applying pressure, the Comets aim to confuse and stifle their opponents. The coaching staff includes Tyler Day Ervin McGee, Lance Bryan, Gary Gorley, and Justice Throneberry.
