Marietta’s Caisten McCarroll – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Love County Closing LLC and Bruce’s Rollin Smoke BBQ

Caisten McCarroll is just beginning his high school career at Marietta High School, but the freshman is already setting a strong tone both on and off the field.

A 4.0 honors student, McCarroll balances academics and athletics with a level of discipline that reflects years of dedication. He credits his younger self as his greatest inspiration.

“Little me,” McCarroll said. “He believed everything was possible with hard work and never stopped chasing the next goal.”

That mindset carries into the classroom, where math stands out as his favorite subject. Rather than naming one standout educator, McCarroll points to the collective influence of his teachers.

“All of them,” he said. “They have each played an important role in my education.”

On the football field, McCarroll is preparing to take on multiple roles this season, including safety and running back, with the possibility of seeing time at quarterback. While the versatility excites him, it also comes with challenges.

“The most difficult part of my positions is being able to accurately read the field,” he said.

Despite the demands, McCarroll embraces the experience, especially because it allows him to share the field with his older brother, Caiden, a junior on the team.

“What I enjoy most is playing with my brother,” he said.

That connection extends beyond family ties, as McCarroll describes the team environment as supportive and close-knit.

“Being a freshman, it is like having a lot of big brothers,” he said. “We are a family.”

McCarroll’s love for the game began long before high school. One of his favorite memories, dates to his sixth-grade season, when his team went undefeated and did not allow a single point.

“We had an undefeated season where we also didn’t allow our opponents to score a single point on our defense,” he said.

That early success helped shape his approach to competition. He emphasizes discipline, consistency and preparation as lessons athletics have taught him.

“Prepare and execute the plan,” McCarroll said.

Before each game, McCarroll keeps his routine simple, turning to music to get mentally focused. Away from sports and school, he values rest when he can find it.

“In the small amount of free time I have, I enjoy sleeping,” he said.

As he begins his high school journey, McCarroll is already demonstrating the work ethic and mindset of a seasoned athlete, positioning himself as a player to watch in the years ahead.
